At 07:05 on 16 October 2014 the Control Room received a call from the client reporting that one of their tankers was stolen between Ermelo and Amersfoort.
The Mtrack unit was placed into alarm and lookouts were sent to SAPS contacts and to the nearest Border post.
The unit started reporting in Clewer.
1 hour 10 minutes after the initial call, the agents reported that they were at the vehicle. The vehicle seemed to be undamaged, even though the agents saw that the suspects had been looking for the tracking unit.
I seemed that the vehicle was opened with keys as there was no tampering with the door locks. The client is investigating.
