24 February 2014. The Mtrack control room received a call at 09:30 from the client to say one of their vehicles, a M/Benz Sprinter, had been hijacked in Tembisa. The driver was on his way to pick up staff.
A few taxi drivers pulled him over and took the vehicle from him.
The control room mobilized the agents and contacted all SAPS contacts, informing them of the suspects’ details and getaway vehicle information.
The Mtrack unit went into alarm and reported from the Tembisa area.
The agents reported that they were on their way from Rand Airport. At 10:16 they were in the area and started their search. Within 10 minutes they recovered the vehicle. It was parked at the taxi rank next to Ivory Park SAPS.
The agents handed the vehicle over to the client at 12:02 and the agents stood down.
