Manufacturers of air conditioners
Background
A syndicate had been accessing ID documents of directors in a company. Posing as representatives, they fraudulently applied for credit and placed orders on behalf of that company. The products were then collected and the targeted company was left with the account.
Event
An air conditioning manufacturer had been targeted and suffered losses through this scam.
When the company was approached for another order, the client suspected the syndicate was involved again. This was verified when the directors were contacted.
Because Mtrack is small, mobile and has an outstanding battery life, the client was able to hide devices in the cargo that was to be collected by the suspected syndicate.
The goods were collected and tracked to a warehouse. The runners for the syndicate were arrested and the air conditioners were recovered.
