Financial Services – Car Hire company
Background
A vehicle was hired from a financial services company, but it was never returned.
Event
After a sabotage alarm signal had been activated from a vehicle in Pretoria near Mamelodi, the control room dispatched a recovery team. The client reported that a customer hired the vehicle from them, but had failed to return it.
The control room dispatched agents. En route they saw the vehicle drive past them.
Whilst pursuing the vehicle, the client requested to contact the driver of the recovery vehicle. After speaking to him, the recovery team took possession of the vehicle and secured the driver next to the road.
The driver of the vehicle reported that the person the borrowed the car from was in Zambia. Our client requested that they take the vehicle to his premises.
Value
The car was recovered and returned to the client in Edenvale. Value R 250,000
