Event
After receiving a tip off from an informant, a sting operation was conducted in collaboration with the SAPS’s Serious and Violent Crimes Unit.
Mtrack devices were covertly stowed in both the cargo and vehicle. The recovery team and SAPS lay in wait along the route.
The vehicle was subsequently hijacked; the load was tracked to the drop off point and then recovered.
Value
R 800, 000.00 worth of cigarettes as well as the truck and trailer were recovered.
