Transporter of hospital equipment
Event
The control room received a system alarm on a horse and trailer. We called the client and learned that the vehicle had been stolen out of the yard. The client reported that the cargo was hospital equipment.
The vehicle kept moving and stopping with the agents on its tail. Eventually in Industria West the agents reported that they had found the horse, trailer and container and they caught the driver. They also discovered that the horse had a false number plate.
The trailer was already detached from the horse. The driver claimed to be only doing a delivery.
The client requested directions to the scene and said that he would be making his way there as soon as possible.
The agents then reported that the driver had confessed that he stole the vehicle out of the depot. An unknown person promised him a sum of R200,000 if he delivered the container to them. The reason for such a large payment became clear when the client arrived.
They opened the container and found that all the cargo was still intact. The load contained hospital equipment worth 10 Million Rand!! The horse was taken to the police station and the trailer and container was handed over to the client.
