Event
From a previous operation, various suspects within a syndicate who operated in Natal, Gauteng and Mpumalanga were identified.
During a subsequent sting operation in Witbank, the following successes were achieved:
- Deliberate hijack of client’s truck – the trailer with the full load worth +R2.3 million was recovered
- Two vehicles were confiscated – a Mazda Drifter DC and a Toyota DC
- Seven suspects were arrested and one illegal 9mm Makarov pistol was seized
- Several other suspects were identified as well as various suspected warehouses
Value
R 2,300,000 in cargo was recovered and the syndicate was broken.
